Two Steps Forward
Blown Glass, Steel (2019)
“Two Steps Forward” acts as a metaphorical stairway to a higher dimension. This piece exemplifies how we as humans are evolving metaphysically. Humanity is shifting into a higher dimension in regards to opening our awareness to the unseen energy and frequencies that connect us all, and a big shift like this doesn’t happen overnight. Progress isn’t a straight line— oftentimes it’s two steps forward, one step back. The transparency of the glass embodies the unseen energy and frequencies we’re tapping into along with the clear future that lies ahead, while the rusted patina on the steel illustrates the path we’re taking to get there as well as the past. Even though we take two steps forward and one step back, the glass vessels still piece together, signifying that no matter the setbacks, we will continue to piece together our understanding of the universal energy that entangles us all. The pedestal elevating the glass vessels portray the higher vibrations and frequencies we're tapping into. The zig-zag geometry of the vessels, as well as the stand they rest on, is tied to the vibrational patterns caused by higher dimensional frequencies. The number three plays a significant role in this piece as well, alluding to the three dimensions humans are able to perceive.
