This large floor piece explores perception of reality by immersing viewers in an otherworldly portal-like experience. Puddle Portal I takes a place of familiarity in nature and distorts it on a crafted landscape. As time-warped, rumbling sounds reverberate from within the piece and flood the audience’s ears, vibrant colors of underwater caustics flow and further distort throughout the landscape of the glass optics. The inherent glow, hypnotic movement and enveloping sound create a deep state of entranced contemplation that resonates within the viewer. This piece has yet to be documented professionally.
