Hot-Sculpted Glass, Steel (2019)
Chakras are the energy centers of the body that correlate to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Each chakra corresponds to specific parts of the body and energies, and has a color associated with it. The different vibrational frequencies of each energy center is what determines the color of a chakra. They are known to be constantly in motion and working with one another through an entangled energy system. “Chakras” was created to visualize an abstract map of this energy system at work. As you walk around this pedestal sculpture, you’ll notice subtle shifts in color changes in the glass chakras. The movement expressed in the steel formation illustrates my interpretation of the energetic frequency connecting each chakra.
